South East Queensland housekeeping fraternity encouraged to learn and network
With a busy schedule of regular events, the South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association (SEQPHA) delivers an ongoing program of education and networking opportunities for executive housekeepers. Its most recent get together was a monthly breakfast held at The Point Hotel, Brisbane, with some 35 members and guests in attendance.

SEQHA Breakfast at The Point in Brisbane
Liz attended recent breakfast for the South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association held on 2nd September at The Point in Brisbane. There was a great networking opportunity for Housekeepers and Suppliers from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Gavin Lysaght from the SEQPHA Committee greeted everyone and reminded all of the upcoming Housekeeping Appreciation Week from 8th – 14th September.
SEQPHA breakfast – The Point Brisbane 2nd September 2014
The next gathering of the South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association will be at The Point Hotel, Lambert Street in Brisbane on Tuesday 2nd September.
The full breakfast will be followed by a show around by Jenny Howarth, the Executive Housekeeper.
The Point is situated in the exclusive inner city village of Kangaroo Point. Close to Brisbane CBD and New Farm. It has 201 deluxe rooms and suites and offers a turn down service each evening along with 24 hour room service. Lamberts Restaurant, Bar and Lounge serves modern Australia cuisine. There is pool along with Wi-Fi, parking and online newspaper and magazine service are all complimentary to guests.
The SEQPHA Breakfast is from 7.00am. The cost is $25 to member and $30 to non members.

PHAN presents Housekeeping Thank You Party with the theme Housekeeping goes Bollywood To celebrate Housekeeping Appreciation week, PHAN will be holding a Housekeeping Thank You party on Friday 26th September at The Menzies Sydney from 6pm for pre dinner drinks. SEQPHA Event – July breakfast at Olli and Luca on the Gold Coast
South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association will be having their July breakfast hosted by Sheila Gobie at Olli and Luca, 15- 21 via Roma Isle of Capri on the Gold Coast. The day is Tuesday 8th July starting at 7.00am.

Successful 2 day Development Programme workshop in Sydney
There were 15 participants in the latest 2 day Development Programme for Housekeeping Managers held in Sydney last week. This workshop was held in conjunction with PHAN. Participants came from hotels in the CBD such as Marriott, Four Seasons and the Grace along with lecturers from the Blue Mountains hotel school and one participant even coming up from Adelaide. Valuable networking and sharing of best practice was critical along with skills in project management, preventative maintenance, health and safely and environmental sustainability.
SEQPHA Breakfast at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast
It was great to attend the South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association breakfast and networking event held at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast on Tuesday 3rd June from 7.00am. Despite the early start, the 5o+ attendees had a terrific opportunity to catch up and exchange ideas on best practice in their operations. There was a lucky draw with many great prizes from suppliers along with a short presentation by the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.
The very delicious breakfast was followed by a tour of some of the Palazzo Versace rooms. The Hotel looks amazing for 15 years old and the rooms have many very special touches including black pool towels and bathrobes, fabulous intricate wooden parquetry floors and a big minibar setup which housekeeping take care of.
SEQPHA Trade Show coming up Friday 8th August from 1.00pm
The South East Queensland Professional Housekeepers Association will be hold a Trade Show on Friday 8th August 2014 from 1.00pm – 5.00pm at Sea World Nara Resort and Water Park on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Industry suppliers will be exhibiting their products and services for the Hospitality & Tourism Industry from 1.00pm. There will be a Cocktail Party, tree to all Property Managers, Housekeepers, Management & Purchasing and Exhibitors from 4.00pm.
