SEQPHA Christmas Party on the Gold Coast 29th November 2013

The Professional Housekeepers Association of NSW has sent a donation of $1,000 via the Red Cross to assist the people of The Philippines.
The Professional Housekeepers Association of NSW, has sent a donation of $1,000 via the Red Cross to assist the people of The Philippines.
President of P H A N, Maureen Jolowicz announced this donation out of gratitude to the many people from The Philippines who are core members of the hospitality profession in our city of Sydney – and Housekeeping in particular.
Meeting with her Executive Committee this week, it was unanimously agreed to support the people of The Philippines during their time of great trial. Across the board working in Hotels in Sydney are many long serving valuable staff originally from The Philippines and many who have family in their home country. As a mark of high regard for their contribution to our industry here in Sydney – the association is moved to support the relief operation.
Doha Housekeepers Networking – inaugural event November 2013
Prabhat Shukla, Executive Housekeeper at Intercontinental Doha The City organised the inaugural Doha Housekeepers Group to meet at his hotel. He has formed the “DOHA HOUSEKEEPERS GROUP”
Doha is a vibrant city in Qatar, the Middle East. It is emerging as a tourist & sports destination hosting the “2022 FIFA World Cup ” along with many other sports activities and events. Almost all leading hotel chains are present or in the pipeline and up till now there was only very informal networking among the Housekeepers.

PHAN 2013 Christmas Party 18th December at Aesop’s Sydney

Pulire InClean Sydney October 2013
While Liz was in Sydney she took the opportunity to attend the INCLEAN show. Members of PHAN were also there to learn about the latest trends and technology in Housekeeping. Presentations included Stephen Doggetts Bed Bugs Risk in Aged Care, Cleaning Without Chemicals in Clinical Areas with Elizabeth Gillespie from Monash Health and Professional Housekeepers – Outsourcing to a Hotel with Con Katsinas. This was the first Ausclean Pulire, held 15-16 October 2013 at Rosehill Racecourse, Sydney, NSW.

Global Handwashing Day was originally created for children and schools, but can be celebrated by anyone promoting handwashing with soap. Each year on October 15, over 200 million people are involved in celebrations in over 100 countries around the world. Why don’t you join in!!
International Housekeeping Appreciation Week at Hilton Al Ain, UAE
This is what the Housekeeping Team at Hilton Al Ain, UAE did during International Housekeepers Week. 1) The very first day we had a briefing in the Garden with High Tea. 2) Day 2, we had a towel decoration competition, in which we called our In-house guests to judge the best towel art. 3) Day 3, we had an activity called Carving for Donut. It was real fun. 4) Day 4, we had an activity called pick up and drop off with three legs. And since the hotel is busy we planned to do the last three days activity during our communication meeting.
